December 3, 2024 – Community Farm Work Day

Howdy Farm Folks!

Its not often you get an email from me ha! This past Saturday (Dec. 1) we had a chilly willy time preparing the animal enclosures. Susan, Tom, and their two grandchildren came out to help cut plastic and staple them to the windows. The kiddos were very excited to learn how to use a staple gun! Terry, Forrest, and Peter joined us shortly after to keep making improvements on the animal’s space. Terry helped close up the smaller broken goat door, Peter finished wrapping the windows, and Forrest repaired the leaning entrance wall in the cows enclosure. We celebrated the end of a hard days work by realizing the well was frozen and carrying wagons-full of water to the animals. Terry returned to the farm with a clip-on heat lamp and a trash can to place over the well and we left it overnight to thaw. The farm is more beautiful than ever in her winter look!

Hope to see you all soon!
