December 31, 2024 – Community Farm Work Day

Dear fellow farm members,

The winter care team has been out every day to care for the animals, so every day is a work day! Last saturday Karen, Kacee and Lucia walked the fields and started some seed planning. It was unusually balmy and Terry came to work on the Ford tractor that will  brush hog the hayfield perimeter. Mike dropped another bale of straw to spread on Kildeer.

Nigel had mulched the far end of Old Pasture before the snow fall.

It was so balmy the bees were flying! Karen and Kacee inspected the hives. The bees were house cleaning!.

Next Fun Event:

New Year’s eve, Tues 12/31, 10:30pm -12:30am  we will be a grinding gold, frankincense, and myrrh at Karen’s house, to be sprayed around the perimeter of the farm on Sun 1/5.  Please rsvp for the grind with either Karen or myself.Other Fun Things:

we will resume regular work days after January 6, weather permitting. We really need to sharpen our tools! and we need to mulch Kildeer. Kacee is planning some projects.

I hope everyone has had a pleasant and warm holidays with family and friends.

See you soon!

Lucia
